|
On 20 April, CHERN kicked off its 2nd Training School, which is taking place in a hybrid format, and aims to develop junior researchers’ competence to translate research results into actionable policy work. We are grateful to Matthias Stepan (member of Working groups 2 & 4) and Marina Rudyak for developing this insightful pedagogical concept with a multifaceted program. The Training School comprises two modules: online sessions for a larger audience and an in-person program in Brussels for a small group of selected researchers in mid-May. Out of the more than 60 excellent applications, 20 trainees were selected. They will be trained by experienced and knowledgeable China experts, senior academics, lawmakers, policymakers, and journalists. The in-person sessions in Brussels will encompass three skills training workshops, inspiring inputs by and discussions with policymakers, academic experts, and think tankers, and a visit to the premises of the European Commission Directorate General for Research and Innovation to gain deep knowledge on the needs for research on China in Europe. We wish the participants a great learning and networking experience!
