The CHERN network was supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) as a COST Action from 2019 to 2024, and is now transitioning into a standalone network. In this publication, we reflect on the challenges we faced, we present what we have achieved, and we outline plans for the future of the CHERN community.
